ShopKeep Raises $65 Million in Latest Funding Round

A noted payment-processing services company, Retriever Merchant Solutions serves over 30,000 clients nationwide and has catered to businesses in the wholesale, retail, restaurant, jewelry, and Internet industries since 1994. Among the technology solutions that Retriever Merchant Solutions offers is the tablet-based point-of-sale (POS) system ShopKeep, which recently held a successful funding round to further its operations. The December 2018 funding round amounted to a total of $65 million in debt and equity financing, which was procured from major FinTech and SaaS investment players Tribeca Venture Partners, First Data Corporation, and Salesforce Ventures. ORIX Growth Capital and Pacific Western Bank’s Square 1 Bank financed the debt portion of ShopKeep’s funding round. The $65 million will reportedly be used to expand the capabilities of ShopKeep’s tablet-to-cloud platform, which is used by over 25,000 restaurants and independent retailers.
